MRCS Part B requires no additional documents or application. All details for the entire MRCS examination is submitted with the initial application, and all required documents are also collected at the time.
There is no separate application required to appear for the MRCS Part B examination. Candidates will be required to use their original RCS online account, and book the examination once they have cleared Part A.
RCS guidelines stipulate limited attempts for either parts of the MRCS examination, and for Part A they get six attempts. However, this limit is even tighter for MRCS Part B as candidates may only attempt it four times to clear the test.
Cancellation, or Postponement of a booked exam is permitted, but are subject to RCS Cancellation Policy. Candidates may only do so by requesting in writing before the closure of exam booking dates.

Yes. There are strict currency stipulations placed on the MRCS examinations by the Royal Colleges of Surgery. It requires that the candidates to clear the MRCS Part B assessment within seven years of passing Part A.
The Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) is a globally recognised PG diploma in surgery. Granted by the Royal Colleges of Surgery, it is the highest of standards when it comes to the practice of surgery. With an in-depth testing of the candidates’ medical knowledge, surgical acumen, and clinical management skills, it ensures the competency of anyone pursuing an international surgical career. As an entry level examination to surgery, it is also the gateway for healthcare professionals to qualify for higher specialty training, and more.
In addition to the Primary Medical Qualification required to sit for the Part A examination, the candidates need only pass the MRCS Part A module to be eligible to attempt MRCS Part B. Also, candidates must ensure exam currency, completing either MRCS modules within seven years of each other.
Once they pass the Part A module of the MRCS examination, candidates are put through their paces in an Objective Structured Clinical Examination, which is the MRCS Part B. This practical medical assessment consists of 17 different life-like examination stations that take up to 9 minutes per station. Candidates are to go through each station resolving medical cases, communicating with patients, or otherwise proving their medical practice proficiency in the face of real-life scenarios.
The MRCS Part B OSCE is conducted in person around the globe in various locations. However, depending on the demand, availability, etc, there may be variations in locations, and slots from time to time. The upcoming MRCS Part B OSCE dates are:
