The MRCS exam, which refers to the membership in the Royal College of Surgery, is a two-part exam that is conducted by the Royal College of Surgery. The exam consists of a theoretical exam and a practical exam that thoroughly evaluate the skills and knowledge of the aspirant.
The Structure and Format of the MRCS Exam
The two parts of the exam are respectively called the MRCS Part A and MRCS Part B examinations. The MRCS Part A exam evaluates the theoretical prowess of the candidate, while the MRCS Part B examination assesses the clinical skills of the candidates through 18 stations in an OSCE-based format.
